BioI attended the 4th Street Fantasy Convention in June 2008 and since I wanted to post to that site I joined LJ. While I use computers in my work life as an academic advisor to honors undergraduates at the University of Minnesota, I try to spend the rest of my time doing other things (I don't own a cell phone, either). I am a voracious reader (of mostly, though not exclusively, fantasy), an occasional writer, a volunteer at a local library, an amateur lutenist, an enthusiastic theatre goer and theatre participant (primarily as a dramaturg, occasionally as a performer). I look forward to retiring in about three years (even though I love my job), so that I'll have more time to devote to other interests. Given the current state of the economy, however, I'm not sure how feasible that will be.
